Filling out Federal and State W-4s can be confusing—between the many different types of fields to the multiple different types of special instructions in the forms, they can be tough to navigate. On top of this, there are even implications if any information submitted is wrong—this can range from employees having to submit corrections, to owing penalties on incorrect filings.
That’s why we added dynamic tooltips to our Employee Onboarding tool. These tooltips help give context to employees around what specific fields mean, helping them get the right information to ensure filings are right the first time. As an example, some employees may see our tooltip helps highlight For example, employees may not immediately recognize that “Exempt under MSRRA” means an exemption is being claimed for state income tax under the Military Spouses Residency Relief Act. Employees that are residents of Michigan may also want to know what the requirements of living in a Renaissance Zone are—we help educate employees what these are, ranging from permanent resident requirements to income requirements.
At Zeal, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the experience for employers and their employees. Tooltip context helps answer employee questions directly in their onboarding experience which ensures a seamless experience for them and mitigates potential questions for employers.
If you’re creating your own payroll and would like to create a smoother onboarding experience for your employers and their employees, get in touch to see how we can help!
